This May I’m taking on 31 miles for Mental Health UK 💚

Mental health has affected my life in more ways than one- through my family, losing someone far too soon, and my own struggles when life has changed so much. This is something close to my heart.

I’m aiming to raise £100 alongside the challenge.

Some days will be walks, some runs, and some just getting out the door — but it all counts.

Thank you so much for any support 🤍

Day3/4 💚

Monday 4th May

Day 4 of my 31 miles for May 💚

The last two days I’ve walked 11 miles raising awareness for mental health, and today I joined my usual Monday group with no intention of running at all.But life doesn’t always go to plan,

I had a very reluctant dog with me who refused to walk and kept trying to slip out of his harness. My anxiety shot through the roof, and every part of me wanted to give up and go home.Instead, I made a choice.

I pushed my anxiety to one side and realised the only way I was finishing my 1.5 miles tonight, was to run it🤦🏻‍♀️ it was not easy and I had to stop a lot. Not because I felt confident. But because sometimes mental health isn’t about feeling okay , it’s about doing it anyway.

Every mile I’m doing this month is for awareness, but also to show that even on the hard days, we’re capable of more than we think 💚

Day two 💚

Saturday 2nd May

Day 2 – Finding the Time, Finding the Purpose

Day two of my 31 miles in May challenge is complete! and if I’m honest, today felt like a true reflection of real life.

I’ve averaged three miles a day so far, but it hasn’t been about setting aside perfect, uninterrupted time to walk. Today started with sunshine walking Arlo and being joined by a friend and ended with me dodging rain showers, trying to fit those miles in wherever I could. Because that’s the reality, life doesn’t pause just because you’ve set yourself a challenge. In between the walking,I’ve been a mum first. Today was about celebrating my youngest’s birthday (again!), making memories, being present, and juggling everything that comes with that. The miles had to work around real life, not the other way round. And that’s exactly why this challenge matters.I’m not just walking for the sake of it. I’m walking to raise awareness for mental health, something that affects so many of us, yet still doesn’t always get the understanding or support it deserves. Too many families are left fighting for help when they should be receiving it as standard. Too many people are struggling quietly.

I also want to raise as much money as I can for a truly worthwhile cause. The money raised helps keep vital services going, making sure there is someone at the end of the phone for people who need it most, and allowing programmes to run that teach people practical, valuable tools to help themselves and rebuild confidence in who they are.

This challenge isn’t about perfect conditions, perfect routines, or even perfect days. It’s about showing up anyway. It’s about proving that even on the busiest days, you can still take a step forward.Every mile I walk this month is for that reason. For awareness. For support. For change.

Day 2 done 👍
