My Reason

Tuesday 29th Sep
On Saturday 10th October, Chloe and I will be taking part in a 20K Glow Walk for Mental Health, raising money and awareness for something that affects so many people throughout their lives.

Mental health can touch anyone, at any time, and sometimes the bravest thing you can do is simply stand up and say, “I’m not okay, and I need help.”

For me, taking part in this walk is about so much more than completing 20K. It’s about standing up, speaking out and showing that asking for help is not a weakness — it’s empowering. It takes courage to admit when you’re struggling, and strength to take that first step towards getting through it.

The struggles my daughter and my family have had to endure this year have been on another level. It’s been one of the hardest periods we’ve faced, and there have been moments when it has felt overwhelming.
But through it all, I’ve realised the importance of talking, speaking out and not suffering in silence. Having the most incredible friends, a strong support network and my family around me has given me the strength to keep going and power through the difficult days.

I want to show my daughter, my family and myself that resilience isn’t about pretending everything is okay. It’s about acknowledging when it isn’t, reaching out, accepting support and finding the strength to keep moving forward.

We may have been through some incredibly difficult times, but we can come through them stronger.

This walk represents that strength, that resilience and the power of having people around you who care.
If you’re able to support us with a donation, no matter how big or small, it would mean so much. More importantly, I hope our journey reminds someone else that it’s okay not to be okay — and you never have to face it alone.
