I am walking with YOU!

Monday 5th Oct

This year, I am taking part in the GLOW Walk as a deeply personal commitment to mental health awareness and support.

Over the past few years, there have been moments when my mental health declined significantly. Like many people, I found myself navigating periods of stress, exhaustion, self-doubt, and emotional struggles that were often invisible to those around me. There were days when simply getting through the day felt like an achievement.

What helped me during those difficult times was knowing that support was available. Through access to therapy, professional guidance, and mental health resources, I was able to find a safe space to process my thoughts, understand my emotions, and gradually rebuild myself. Those conversations, tools, and support systems became lifelines during some of my darkest days.

Mental health challenges can affect anyone, regardless of their profession, background, or circumstances. As a healthcare professional, I spend much of my time supporting others, but this experience reminded me of the importance of seeking support for ourselves when we need it.

I am walking for GLOW because I believe everyone deserves access to the help and resources that can make a difference. I am walking for those who may be struggling in silence, for those who are still finding their way through difficult times, and for those who supported me when I needed it most.

Every step I take is a reminder that recovery is not always linear, that asking for help is a sign of strength, and that hope can still shine through even in our darkest moments.

Together, let's continue the conversation around mental health, break down stigma, and ensure that support remains available for those who need it.

Because no one should have to walk through their darkest days alone.
