I'm taking on 31 Miles this August for Mental Health UK
This August, I'm taking on 31 Miles in August to raise money for Mental Health UK.I'm walking, running or rolling 31 miles throughout the month to help ensure more people can access the mental health support they need, when they need it most.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help Mental Health UK continue providing vital services, information and support to people across the UK.
If you're able to, I'd be so grateful if you could sponsor me. Your support will help keep me motivated throughout the challenge and make a real difference to people's lives.
Thank you so much for your support!
My Updates
Update
Friday 28th AugChallenge update!
I started this journey at 109kg, and I’m now down to 99.5kg — a total loss of 9.5kg (nearly 1½ stone).
I originally challenged myself to cover 31 miles, but I’ve now completed over 124 miles through walking, swimming and cycling — four times my original target!
I’ve stopped smoking, cut right down on drinking, changed my diet and made exercise part of my life. It hasn’t always been easy, but physically and mentally, I feel like a different person.
I’ve also raised £95 for Mental Health UK, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has sponsored and supported me.
The challenge may have started with 31 miles, but this journey is only just beginning. 💪
New Chapter
Sunday 2nd AugA month ago today, I decided it was time to change my life and begin a new chapter.
Since then, I’ve stopped smoking, cut right down on drinking, changed my diet and started exercising. I’m not pretending it’s been easy, but I’ve stuck with it and I’m proud of the progress I’ve made. I started at 109kg and, one month later, I’m down to 105kg.
As you can probably see from the photo, I’m not the smallest person in the world, and I’ve still got a fair way to go! I work best when I have a target and a finish line to aim for, so I’m setting myself a new challenge.
Over the next month, I’m going to cover 31 miles by walking, running or swimming — although, if I’m honest, it’ll probably involve a lot more swimming than running!
Along the way, I’d like to raise as much money as possible for [charity name], a brilliant charity doing incredibly important work.
This challenge is about pushing myself further, losing more weight and proving that I can keep going — while hopefully doing something worthwhile for others at the same time.
Anything you can donate, no matter how small, would mean a great deal. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this post would be equally appreciated.
Here’s to the next 31 miles and the next chapter. Let’s do this!
