On taking the cat for a walk

Friday 16th May
Today's walk for 31 Miles in May was slightly hampered by my reluctant companion. But we managed 2.5 miles together! Delilah the Cat, my Peer Runnings team mates and I are hoping to raise £300 for Mental Health UK and to raise awareness of the power of Peer Support. Peer-based approaches are founded on lived experience and involve mutual and reciprocal relationships that foster hope, choice, and empowerment. It is a truly person-centred system of support which has changed my own mental health immeasurably for the better. If you can spare us a pound or two we would be very grateful. Delilah would prefer Dreamies!

First intentional walk of 31 Miles in May

Friday 16th May
I had prescriptions to collect from the pharmacy. Maybe if I walked more I wouldn’t need so many prescriptions! So I decided to walk to collect them and set off along the river in the glorious sunshine.

One of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing is ‘Keep Learning’ so I decided to listen to something edifying rather than my usual 80’s one hit wonder playlist or my favourite podcast ‘Help I sexted my Boss’ - (which is saved from being complete smut by the co-hosting of William Hansen, Etiquette Coach).

Instead I chose ‘There’s No Such Thing as a Fish’ which is a podcast put together by the QI elves. Today I learned that squidgy melty cheese is made so by the addition of a chemical containing sodium, carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, symbols for which are NaCHO.  True story!
