I'm taking on 31 Miles this May for Mental Health UK

This May, I'm taking on 31 miles to support Mental Health UK.

Mental health affects every part of our daily lives, and with the right support, people can navigate even the toughest times.

Mental Health UK works at home, in schools, and in workplaces across the UK helping people build the tools and condience to navigate life's challenges.

If you're able to support me, I'd really appreciate it. Your donation will help more people get the support they need, when they need it most.

Thank you!

Moving more for mental health

Wednesday 6th May
Since experiencing loss of a friend last month the main thing I was conscious of was looking after my own mental health.
So many of us have suffered loss recently and it is something that you cannot just push through but to allow ourselves to grieve in a variety of ways. I had just started running training again so it was an easy choice to set aside one thing that would do for me. To carry on. Sometimes that’s all we can do is to choose to carry on. The emotions that I feel some days can be immense, but running helps my brain switch off even for just those 30 minutes. So when I saw the running challenge of running for mental health in May it was a perfect way to physically say I won’t give up. I may be full of sadness at times.. but I won’t give up. I may be struggling with sleep and genuine rest.. but I won’t give up. And for those of you like me who have struggled with your mental health I run for you too. So everyone knows and understands just like  physical illness it takes time, support and work to find yourself again. You may need to adapt things but it does get better. And finally if you need to talk to someone right now then do it, just take the first step that’s all you need to do right now.
