GLOW London 2026

Walking 10k for World Mental Health Day :)

I love walking.

Regardless of how I am feeling or what I am overly caught up on, a walk always helps.

Personally, it allows for all things internally stagnant and stuck to unravel, flow and release into various forms of creative expression.

Walking is my go-to fitness activity in my moments of solitude.

During these walks, I gravitate towards the greenery as much as I can, grazing my hands past the leaves and the tree barks.

I look up at the blue skies, whether day or night, and I like to be enamoured by the many beautiful colours, textures and patterns nature has to offer us.

This becomes not only my chance to connect with mother nature but to also feel energetically rejuvenated and to feel rooted again within myself.

And should I be walking in any urban spaces, I find bursts of joy in capturing pictures of both modern and traditional architecture (which I will most likely be doing so on the day of the event).

Recently, I experienced an emotional breakdown, one quite like no other before. It spoke to me in a new language I finally got to unlock.

It was a soul-wrenching reminder of my journey of becoming.

I went on this time capsule, having to re-feel the significant deal it took to get to where I am today. I suppose the pain made me realise that I really do love myself now and that I matter a lot to me.

I value myself so much; to say it, to feel it and to mean it truly now, was once a long stretch from where it all began.

Mental Health has and always will be an integral part of my life story.

I feel grateful and blessed to be here, to have transmuted my pain. I consistently extract, apply and share wisdom from my life experiences all for the greater good. It is a way of life that I have chosen for myself and continue to nurture, to expand on, to build brick by brick, and I love it.

On the 10th of October, this year, I would like to walk for all the past versions of me that helped in bringing me this far. It is because of them I get to impact the world around me for the better today, and hopefully for many years to come :)

If you would like to contribute and donate to this cause that touches on people from all walks of life, I'd be very grateful. I feel that even a few pounds would make a meaningful difference in supporting somebody that may really need it.

We cannot be so sure of how someone is really doing, of what they have or have not weathered, when Mental Health is not quite visible to the naked eye. Signs can be missed and someone can decide to leave when we least expect it.
