Walking for Mental Health UK
Thursday 30th Apr🌿 Walking for something that really matters 🌿
This Mental Health Walk means a lot to me. I've often felt overwhelming, and I know how hard it can be to open up or ask for help.
Mental health has a significant impact on my daily life, shaping how I handle stress, relationships, and challenges. I’ve come to understand the importance of taking time to care for my mental wellbeing and recognizing when I need support. Being open about mental health helps break down stigma and encourages a more understanding and supportive environment for myself and others.
I've struggled with my own mental health for at least 13 years now, Depression and Anxiety, with many different influencing factors like grief. Recently loosing my Nan, gives me so many more reasons to do this for Mental Health UK, as she also struggled with her own mental health.
Approximately 1 in 5 (20.2%) adults in England live with a common mental health condition (CMHC), such as anxiety or depression, with prevalence higher in women (24.2%) than men (15.4%). Data indicates that 1 in 6 children aged 5 to 16 have a probable mental health problem. Rates are rising, with 16–24 year olds particularly affected (25.8% prevalence). *NHS England*
That’s why I’m walking in support of Mental Health UK—to help raise awareness, challenge the stigma, and remind people that they’re not alone in how they feel.
Mental health isn’t always visible, but it’s always important. If this walk helps even one person feel seen, heard, or supported, then every step is worth it.
If you can, please support by donating, sharing, or simply checking in on someone you care about. It can make more difference than you think 🤍
