GLOW London 2025 - Employees Only

IT'S NOT OK! Fundraising for Mental Health UK

Here I go again.

I will never stop banging the drum about MENTAL HEALTH.

Its NOT Ok !

It's NOT Ok to prioritise performance over wellbeing.

It's NOT Ok to dismiss behaviour as "attention seeking"

It's NOT Ok to say, "we just don't have the funding"

It's NOT Ok to exclude kids as you pass the buck.

It's NOT Ok to simply not have enough places for those who don't fit the mould.

It's NOT OK, to have untrained, unequipped staff working with SEN young people.

It's NOT Ok relinquish responsibility simply because they turn 18.

It's NOT Ok to assume it's down to bad parenting.

It's NOT Ok to wait until it's too late.

The last 10 years have been all consuming. Being an SEN mum is not for the faint hearted. Living in a constant state of hyper-vigilance, where surviving takes priority over thriving.  The long term stress took its toll on me both mentally and physically.  Leading to my own journey with mental health and loosing all my hair to alopecia.

But.....none of that could have prepared me for what this year would bring.  On 07/01/2025 I was dealt the worst hand I could have ever imagined.

I've spent over two decades investing in my kids.

Being their advocate in the face of adversity.

Fighting the battles.

Flying the flag.

Worked with, and sadly at times,  against professionals.

When my peers returned to work after having kids,

I stayed home.

I kept my kids safe.

I created memories.

I laughed alot.

I cried alot.

I hid from the world, alot.

I sacrificed my life long dream to be a teacher.

Because my FOUR.

My beautiful, extraordinary, intelligent, resilient, unique and undeniably amazing kids.

Were and still are worth it. ♡♡♡♡

Yet here I am, insanely broken forever.

Still a mum to 4 kids.

3 here and 1 in the stars.

Loosing a child is never OK.

Suicide is never OK.

IT IS NOT OK!

I'll be walking 20km around London with GLOW for MENTAL HEALTH on the 11th October 2025.
