Hi thanks for taking the time to read my bio, I’ll try and keep it short!

I was diagnosed with physical symptoms of depression at the beginning of this year, and now take a daily dose of happy pills. These keep me well balanced which is totally what I needed to live my daily life.

Imagine your head is a bucket and everyday things keep pilling in, got to get the kids to school, got to get to work on time, what shall we have for dinner, is there enough money in the bank to pay that bill, etc, it gets sooooo full up it starts spilling out, you start stressing, getting angry, feeling like a failure, like your drowning, sometimes just having a chat with someone can ease that and sometimes you may need a bit more help, counselling or medication! There’s no shame in it, you wouldn’t walk around with a broken arm because you felt people would view you differently for having a cast!

In January 2020 I lost my Dad to suicide, there were no signs he was struggling, he was the greatest showman, maybe he didn’t reach out because for his generation there was a stigma around mental health. I also experienced this first hand after he left, people didn’t know what to say, would turn and walk in a different direction when they saw me. It was, and still is a difficult subject for a lot of people to talk about.

But it shouldn’t be, my motto is “there isn’t a problem too big, that we can’t solve together.” And that’s right, if you’re struggling reach out.
