Saturday 14th Sep My name is Paul Watkins. I’m taking part in the Mental Health UK Glow 20k Night walk through London on the 19th October. It is their biggest and most colourful fundraiser of the year, I have decided that I want to take part in this event because of the amazing work this organisation does for people who are not in the best of places. Every 90 minutes somebody commits suicide in England. Wow that’s unbelievable but very true. 1 in 4 people have a mental health related issue throughout their lives and this is something that seriously needs to be addressed. The biggest cause of death for men under 50 years of age is Suicide. There is some really shocking statistics here, that is why I am taking part in this event because I want to raise money for the charity and also if I can bring more awareness of Mental Health to people, that is something that I feel would be making a great contribution for such a worthwhile cause.
