I'm taking on the 28 Miles in February challenge!

I'm taking on the 28 Miles in February challenge with my dogs, to celebrate and support Mental Health UK.

I'll be walking the 28miles   and raising at least £100 to help ensure that no one faces mental health problems alone.

Mental Health can affect all of us and should not be dismissed as affecting the weak only.

Every mile I cover and every pound I raise will make a difference to the lives of people affected by mental health problems.

Please support me if you can. Together we can make this count.

Walking for mental health : Why this matters to me.

Sunday 1st Feb

Mental health is something we all carry with us, quietly shaping how we move through the world. I’m grateful to say that mine is pretty good these days. I’ve always been a strong person—life has thrown more than enough at me, and somehow I’ve managed to keep going. But strength doesn’t mean life has been easy. Far from it.

I count myself lucky. I have an incredible family, amazing friends, and my animals, who have been there for me on the days when things felt heavy. That support has been everything.

After my accident, I spent three months in hospital, and that was one of the toughest chapters of my life. My mental health wasn’t at its best. There were days when I cried and cried, not because of pain, but because of fear. The unknown can be terrifying. Would I ever walk again? What would life look like if I couldn’t? Those questions sat with me every single day.

But with the right support, love, and encouragement, I found my way through it. I learned that even the strongest people can struggle, and that’s okay. What matters is having someone to lean on when the world feels too heavy.

That’s why I’m supporting mental health now. I’m walking to raise awareness and funds for those who aren’t as lucky as I’ve been—people who don’t have the same support system, or who feel alone in their darkest moments. If sharing my journey helps even one person feel seen or supported, then it’s worth every step.

Mental health matters. And none of us should ever have to face it alone.
