Join the Movement: Fundraising for Mental Health UK

I'm taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Mental Health UK!

I want to make a difference to people affected by mental health problems. Every donation, no matter how big or small, brings us one step closer to a world where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health. Let's turn awareness into action and create a brighter future for all.

Mental Health UK is dedicated to providing essential support and resources to individuals and families affected by mental health challenges. With a focus on collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity, they are at the forefront of driving positive change within the mental health landscape.

My Updates

Chilly Hilly - 10 mile

Wednesday 11th Dec
Well that most certainly lived up to its's name - Both Chilly and very Hilly. The wind speeds over Tennyson down towards the needles was something I have never experienced before. Pleased with how I felt throughout though and recovery has been good this week.

Race the Train 5K

Wednesday 6th Nov
Saturday 1st November - Race the Train 5K at the IW Steam Railway. A lovely event and t the good news being that I managed to beat it. Coming in at just over 25 minutes. Being quite a hilly route I was pleased with the time. Looking forwards to the next......

Dash in the Dark 5K

Wednesday 9th Oct
Saturday 5th October saw myself and lovely group of friends tackle the IOW Dash in the Dark 5K which raises money for the Air ambulance - I was thrilled with my time and we raised over £200 for this very worthy cause - on to the next one we go......

Nettlestone RAT Race

Monday 30th Sep
Yesterday saw the Nettlestone 5 mile Road and Trail Race - which all raises money for the Primary School!

I completed in a time of 43 minutes which I was really pleased with considering how tough the hills were feeling today! I'm putting that down to not staying as hydrated as I needed to and a few to many late nights partying recently! Time to knuckle down for a few weeks to keep pushing those miles up.

Next up Dash in the Dark 5K 05.10.2024

A run out to the Fort!

Wednesday 25th Sep
Just under 10K ticked off - with a lovely run from St Helen's down to the fort and back again. Some very wet trainers on the 2.5mile trek back to the car! (In the Dark) All felt good though and enjoying these runs whilst its daylight!

I Joined a running Club!!

Monday 16th Sep
I pushed myself right outside of my comfort zone this week and joined a running club! Something I definitely thought would be necessary to keep me going throughout the winter months! Although training isn't 'easy' now it's a lot easier this time of year than it is throughout the winter months. So I joined the WBR to keep me motivated and keep me on track in preparation for Spring next year.

Sandown to Shanklin 10K

Monday 16th Sep
Hi Team,

The training is now well underway in preparation for the Big Half Marathon next year - so this Sunday just gone I completed the Sandown to Shanklin 10K - it was a warm one but all went well and even better news the knee held up for that distance which is great news as can cause a few niggles at that kind of distance!
