31 Miles in May!
May is Mental Health awareness month. Everybody has mental health, just as we all have physical health, unfortunately those who experience mental illness don’t always receive the same understanding or support as someone who may have a more physical ailment. The myths and stigma around mental health and mental illness are harmful and can often prevent people from seeking the support they deserve.
This May, I’ll be completing the “31 Miles in May” challenge in support of Mental Health UK. I’ll be sharing my progress through this page and via strava! All donations will go directly to Mental Health UK, with my own personal goal being £100.
1 in 4 people in the UK have experienced a mental health problem at some point in their life, and it’s important to remember the large spectrum of difficulties individuals may face each day, don’t be afraid to reach out to someone who may be struggling, or access support yourself if you’re going through a difficult time.
I’d like to encourage anyone who is able to to take part in this wonderful challenge across May, share the links below (fundraising and support!), and most importantly get talking about mental health! There is no shame in reaching out, only strength.
