Fundraising for Mental Health UK
Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to view my page.
What is this for?
In February 2023, I unexpectedly lost my older brother due to a mental health crisis. Unknown to us at the time, he was going through mental health challenges and his sudden departure has left a void in our lives.
If this experience has taught us anything, it is that Mental Health needs as much attention as Physical Health although it is more commonly hidden. Mental Heath is this taboo subject that is often discouraged from being discussed, most especially in the Black and Asian community.
I personally want to advocate for change and recognition in Mental Health and this is the start of my journey.
If it means I can contribute to someone out there receiving the support and assistance they need so their loved one's don't have to experience any sorrow, then it's a journey worth taking.
On the 11th of October, I will be participating in a 20KM walk along with my husband, 2 children, father, mother, my younger brother and his dog to raise both money and awareness for the charity Mental Health UK.
Why choose Mental Health UK?
Mental Health UK is dedicated to providing essential support and resources to individuals and families affected by mental health challenges. With a focus on collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity, they are at the forefront of driving positive change within the mental health landscape.
How do they use the funds raised?
To name a few offerings:
-£5 could provide materials for art therapy sessions, helping people relax and build new friendships.
-£10 could allow 60 people access to the Mental Health & Money Advice website, where they can find support and resources to improve their financial and mental health.
-£50 could train 25 educators on how to support young people with mental health resilience.
(An in depth list of offerings based on the amount raised can be found here: https://fundraising.mentalhealth-uk.org/event/glow-night-walk-2025/home)
How can I help?
Together, we can make a difference. Please join me in fundraising for Mental Health UK and be a catalyst for change in the fight for mental wellness.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, brings us one step closer to a world where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health. Let's turn awareness into action and create a brighter future for all.
Thank you and God bless x
