The Five 5s Challenge

Sunday 16th Feb
In April 2020, I was in a place within my life where I wanted change. I decided this change had to start from my daily choices and decisions, which ultimately led me to run my first 5k. After multiple breaks, a pulled hamstring and an elapsed  time of an hour, I swore I would never put myself through that again… until I did. I realised the magic change that I desired was in the work I was avoiding and I could never have imagined just how much of an impact this mindset would entail.

Fast forward to present day, I have completed challenges, working alongside mental health charities that include: April 2022, Running 160 metres per male suicide for the year 2021 (totalling 30 half marathons in one month)  and my most recent endeavour in May 2024, a 90km solo, unassisted ultramarathon from Brighton to Bromley.

Therefore, to mark this 5 year milestone of the decision that ultimately changed my life, I will be running 555.55 miles from March 17th-April 13th (The Five 5s challenge). This 28 day and 21 marathon stint will be the hardest challenge I have committed to yet, with last 26.2 miles taking place at Paris marathon.

As always I will be running to raise awareness for Mental Health, with help from Mental Health UK, spreading the message that ‘You are only one decision away from a completely different life’.
