Join the Movement: Fundraising for Mental Health UK

Hi, my name is Fatmata, but most of you know me as Fatima or Effay  :)

I'm excited to share that on the 19th October 2024, I will be taking part in a 20K walk to support Mental Health UK. 

This cause is deeply personal to me - October 12th will be marking two years since my Dad passed away. In his memory, I will be dedicating this walk to the many years he contributed to the NHS as a Mental Health Nurse. I am also dedicating this walk to everyone who has faced their own battles with mental health, including myself. 

As a person of colour, Mental Health is a pervasive issue we face today, and it's important that we encourage others to seek help.

Through work and personal experiences, I've come to understand that mental health isn't just about treatment - it's about fostering understanding, breaking cultural stigmas, and offering compassion to others. 

This insight drives my passion to continue contributing to the mental health field and advocating for better care and awareness. 

With the work that Mental Health UK are doing, they focus on collaborations, innovation and inclusivity, they are at the forefront of driving positive change within the mental health landscape. 

I am aiming to raise £200 - every donation, no matter how big or small would be greatly appreciated.
