In May 2023, I decided enough was enough and I walked out of the job that I’d had for nearly 19 years. Ironically, it was on mental health awareness day too! That was the best decision that I ever made!
Since I was diagnosed with anxiety, there has been a lot of ups and downs but most recently I realised that I wasn’t really living and was just existing so I decided that it was time to do something about it. I made a pledge to myself that I would say ‘yes’ to any plans, no matter how much they scared me and to say that I’m winning would be an understatement. I’ve done things in the past year or so that I would never have thought possible!
I am now in a completely different place in my life, I help people on a daily basis and I bloody love it. I have a lot of close friends that live with mental health and I am doing this for them, as well as for me!
Just as an added challenge for me, I haven’t ran for 3 years!!!!! It’s time that I got my arse back on the treadmill and this will give me the push that I need to get my fitness levels back to where they once were…. I can do this 😂
1 in 4 people in the UK has experienced a mental health problem. We won’t stop until everyone has the tools they need to live their best possible life.
