London Landmarks Half Marathon for Mental Health UK
Hello everyone!
I'm taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon in support of Mental Health UK 🏃♀️💙
As a Mental Health First Aider, and someone who has experienced mental health challenges, I know how important it is to talk, listen, and support each other.
There was a time when life felt a bit too heavy for me too. For a long while, it felt like I was losing a battle I couldn’t speak about. Opening up was incredibly hard, many left, which made things even harder. But God, and the right people, stepped in and before I knew it, I found myself wrapped in light, grace, and a love that felt heaven-sent.
Now I see that asking for help was the bravest and kindest thing I could have ever done for myself. It was the first step towards healing, and it taught me the lesson of a lifetime:
Strength isn’t about staying silent or holding it all together. Sometimes, strength is found in the courage to say, “I need help”.
I started running as part of my healing journey, and it quickly became my safe space. But knowing how difficult and lonely that road can be, I felt compelled to do more. That’s why I’m running to raise awareness, spark conversations, and support the incredible work of Mental Health UK.
Here’s why this matters:
- 1 in 4 adults in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year.
- Around 125 people lose their lives to suicide every week.
If you’re going through a tough time, please know:
YOU’RE NOT ALONE.
Things can and do get better, and every step forward, no matter how small, is a
sign of strength.
Keep showing up for yourself, with patience and kindness 💙.
Sooo… please remember to be kind. Everyone is fighting a battle you may not see.
And don’t forget to check in on your friends and loved ones.
Thanks for reading, and if you can donate or share, I’d be super grateful!
