London Landmarks Half Marathon for Mental Health UK

Hello Everyone,

I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to share that I’ll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in support of Mental Health UK 🏃‍♀️💙

As a Mental Health First Aider, and someone who has experienced mental health challenges, I know how powerful it is to be able to talk, to be listened to, and to feel supported.

There was a time when life felt a bit too heavy for me too.

In 2024, my body began revealing the weight I had been carrying in silence. I lost my hearing due to chronic stress, and while recovering, I developed one of the most aggressive forms of psoriasis, covering my entire body. The beginning of 2025 tested me in ways I never imagined. And although my body slowly started to heal, my mind struggled to follow.

For a long time, I felt like I was losing a battle I didn’t have the courage to name out loud. Opening up felt terrifying. But when the future became unthinkable, I made the kindest and bravest decision I’ve ever made: I asked for help.

Recovery wasn’t quick or easy. It was slow, painful, and often incredibly lonely. But allowing the right people to step in, and through God’s grace, I found myself surrounded by a love and light that felt heaven‑sent.

Running became part of that healing but knowing how isolating that road can be is what pushed me to do more.

So I’m running this race for:

  • those fighting battles they can’t yet name,
  • those who feel alone,
  • those who show up for others even when they’re hurting,
  • and those who choose, every single day, not to give up on life.

Because when your own mind betrays you, choosing to keep going is one of the bravest things you can ever do.

If you’re going through a tough time, please know:  YOU’RE NOT ALONE

Things can and do get better, and every step forward, no matter how small, is a sign of strength.
Keep showing up for yourself, with patience and kindness 💙.

Thanks for reading, and if you can donate or share, I’d be super grateful!
