GLOW London 2025

GLOW up London with Mental Health UK

On 11 October, I’ll be lighting up London as part of GLOW – a vibrant sponsored walk shining a light on mental health. I’m proud to be supporting Mental Health UK, a charity that provides life-changing support to people across the UK affected by mental health challenges.

With your help, we can turn London’s iconic streets into a celebration of hope, strength, and solidarity. Every donation powers vital services, helplines, and resources — helping to ensure no one faces a mental health problem alone.

Let’s light the way toward a future where mental health is valued and supported. Please donate if you can — and thank you for being part of the movement.

My Updates

Hi

Sunday 7th Sep
As many of you know, I've faced significant challenges with my mental health over the years. My journey through my twenties was particularly tough, reaching multiple crisis points where I desperately needed support. Unfortunately, I found myself lost in a maze of never-ending waiting lists and constant transfers between care services. I felt stuck; I was deemed too complex for primary care yet not severe enough for secondary care.
I've also had to navigate the stigma surrounding my diagnosis of borderline personality disorder. One of the most frustrating misconceptions is that people with BPD are manipulative narcissists. I've encountered numerous mental health professionals who echoed this negative mindset, treating me as if I wasn’t worth their time. Many would dismiss my struggles, thinking I was simply seeking attention rather than understanding the deep pain I was experiencing.
Despite these challenges, I was fortunate to find help through amazing mental health charities like Mental Health UK, Samaritans, and MIND. They treated me with empathy and respect, helping me understand that I am more than my diagnosis. Their support played a crucial role in my recovery and has inspired me to make a difference for others facing similar battles. As a result, I decided to train as a mental health nurse to ensure that others have a more positive experience on their mental health journeys. I am currently in my third year of training and look forward to graduating in the summer of 2026. In addition to my studies, I also aim to give back to the charities that supported me by participating in fundraising events. That’s why I am taking part in the Mental Health UK GLOW Walk.
Mental health is so important to me, and any support you can offer would mean the world. Please consider donating to my page. Thank you for being part of my journey!
