Join the Movement: Fundraising for Mental Health UK

I'm taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Mental Health UK!

I want to make a difference to people affected by mental health problems. Every donation, no matter how big or small, brings us one step closer to a world where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health. Let's turn awareness into action and create a brighter future for all.

Mental Health UK is dedicated to providing essential support and resources to individuals and families affected by mental health challenges. With a focus on collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity, they are at the forefront of driving positive change within the mental health landscape.

Just over two months to go until the London Landmarks Half, and training is well and truly in full swing. It’s hard to describe the feeling running gives you, the ability to switch off from the world for a little while, silence your mind, and push your body to do incredibly hard things.

As someone whose mind rarely switches off, it’s incredibly rewarding to see what exercise can personally do for my mental health. Constantly battling with your own thoughts is tough and debilitating. That’s why I’m doing this, not just for me, but for my friends, family, and everyone in between. Everyone has a mental health just as much as physical health, and it’s easy to neglect both, not take care of  ourselves as much as we should.

Taking on challenges like this half marathon is a way to remind myself, and others, that prioritizing both our minds and bodies is essential. It’s about setting goals, facing discomfort, and pushing through moments of doubt.

We all have our battles, but taking time to invest in ourselves, whether through running or other forms of selfcare, helps create a stronger, more balanced version of who we are. It’s not just about finishing the race, it’s about the growth and healing that happens along the way.

Having struggled with mental health issues for much of my life, and seeing friends and family face similar challenges, I know how hard it can be and how limited the resources are.

Earlier this year, I discovered a passion for running and signed up for a half marathon. Unfortunately, I had to withdraw due to a broken foot. Now, I've decided to turn this setback into an opportunity to support a cause that everyone needs,  by running for a charity.
