109 Miles So Far

Monday 12th May
109 miles so far out of my 31 miles for May

Started as you know in April to get as much mileage in as possible and fundraising done.

Well smashed my £140 target at £230+ and places leisure who I work for are going to match this upto £250.00!

A little about me and my journey

Friday 25th Apr

I wanted to share something personal to me with our Community and may be of inspiration to others.

I have been on a massive health journey which began back on the 20th December 2024.

Something I have always wanted to take part in a sponsor which I due to loosing a significant amount of weight I am now able to do so.

As part of Mental Health UK 2025, walking 31 miles fundraiser in May which I have signed up to I started this a month early as I wanted to incorporate this into my walks I will continue throughout May to fundraise as much as possible for this important charity and with it being a cause close to my heart - I am currently at 50 miles which is increasing by the day and have exceeded this target already and have raised so far £220.00 of my £140.00 target.

The past 18 weeks I have walked approximately 205 miles and have enjoyed every moment of this being out in the countryside walking listening to my music and other walks with my husband Robert and our family.

Some of the walks have included walking to and from work, walking from home to Sheffield City Centre, home to Greasbrough, through Wentworth Woodhouse grounds and village to Harley to Chapeltown, Sheffield, the whilst abroad in April we walked 7+ miles every other day.

Medication wise - I have also come off 11 different types of medication one massive change being my blood pressure medications.

My blood pressure was in a hypertensive crisis state in February 2024 and were managed by three different medications the readings were shocking at 196/108 which was very dangerous and difficult to control and were under strict review monthly by my doctor. As of January 2025 one month on from my weight loss journey my blood pressure is now back within normal range of 128/72

I have a long way to go on my weight loss and fitness journey but am currently at a

- 9 stone 2.5lb loss as of the 25th April 2025.
