Volunteering at GLOW

Be our GLOW in the dark, volunteer at one of our GLOW events and help to support those affected by mental health problems.

We are hosting 3 GLOW evening walks this year and are looking for people to help guide our participants round the journey and be there to cheer them on at the start and the end.

Fill in our form at the bottom of this page to let us know you are interested!

We need you!

We are looking for positive, proactive and friendly people to help us make GLOW the best experience for our participants.

Route stewards.

Located at a strategic point along the course, you will motivate and help people if they need it. You will be paired with a steward and given all you need to assist!

Mental health first aiders.

We need people who are mental health first aid trained to be on hand to talk to anyone that may need extra support that evening.

Set up crew.

Help us to set up before the event, pack down at the end of the night, and ensure everyone is having a great time at the park in between.

You will benefit by experiencing GLOW first hand and getting the chance to meet some amazing people and explore a city in a way you have never done before!

You also have the opportunity to learn valuable new skills to support personal and career development.

Supporting you

We will confirm all details with you in advance of the event. We will then offer a zoom drop in two weeks before so you can meet us virtually and run through all the information.

At the event you will receive a MHUK t-shirt, a snack pack and anything else you may need to carry out your role.

Equality Diversity & Inclusion

At MHUK we are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive volunteer community and will happily consider making reasonable adjustments to support volunteer applications from people with a disability or health condition.

How long will I volunteer for?

We ask you to volunteer for a minimum of 4 hours but this varies depending on the event and role and will talk to you about this once you get in touch.

Your Impact

By volunteering at any of our events, you are making an impact and helping us to be there for people and their mental health at home, at school and in the workplace.
